And now, happier things

smutjunkie shared a link to this recently and I laughed my very ass off:

Just watched it again.  LOLed again.  Excellent.

I should note that I highly disapprove of this film in general, but that's really not important, because I'm becoming an old grumpy coot about some things.

On another note, the inner workings of the universe may be a hologram.

No, really.

Click on that link and read it NOW.  I got so excited reading it I literally had to press my hands to my mouth and stand up and dance around a little bit.  It's almost unbearably awesome.  I don't entirely understand all of it, but it's SO AWESOME!

I can't read that whole article right now, but you're right, it's unbearably awesome!

Re: Holographic Universe

Fascinating idea, but my inner jury is out until I see how the picture forms with String/Super-String/M-Theory and my dabbling of the interplay between Determinist Theory and Free-Will in Pattern Theory.

Oh, because it's neat: I learned somewhere in my studies (I think it was a documentary on the application of the Science of Music) that Black Holes generate the vibration of Bb over 57 (I hope I'm remembering that number right) levels below that of human hearing. I haven't found the information anywhere else yet, but I'm devoutly looking whenever I have the opportunity.

Proof that woodwinds are physics-defying sanity-destroyers?

Or that if you get sucked into a black hole, you will be flat?

(Sorry. *hides*)

I've heard that dryers also hum at Bb... maybe that's where all the socks go?

And it's not the woodwinds that destroy the laws of physics with Cthulhianic chaos... it's percussion. ^___~

I feel like that article just fisted my brain.

Then I clicked through to the article about Hawking radiation and information loss (which I hadn't heard about before-- imagine the loss of information being an unthinkable impossibility, omfg) and now I am drooling on my keyboard at work, trying not to have sci-fi plot bunnies. PHYSICS WHY ARE YOU SO COOL

AND SO HARD FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME TO UNDERSTAND

I WANT TO SEE ALL THE COOL STUFF TOOOOOO

DO NOT RESIST THE SCI-FI PLOT BUNNIES!

Also, erm, fisted your brain?

I have to go think about that for a minute.
