6oz cream cheese
8oz sour cream
1 cup sliced strawberries
1 cup cocoa powder
3/4 - cup sugar (I use slightly more than 3/4 cup)
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 chocolate pie crust (Keebler makes a good one)
Put the cream cheese out to soften and pre-heat the oven to 325. (I'm still working on the right temp. It's somewhere between 325-350.)
Slice your strawberries and add the sugar, vanilla and almond extracts. Stir them up and set them aside to form syrup. (Be sure to smell them. Strawberries and almond is just yummy smelling.)
When the cream cheese is nice and warm, add the sour cream and stir it up, and then add the cocoa powder. Add as much cocoa as you like... less than a cup or more, but I think I added more. I don't measure it, I just add and add until it's a nice dark color and the consistency is stiff. It will smell awesome. Do not give in to the temptation to taste it. Blegh.
Add the strawberry mixture and stir until the lumps smooth out, then pour into the shell and bake for 25-30 minutes or until set.
This is a good pie chilled rather than warm -- I think chilling it helps it set.
My next step: I'm refrigerating this pie overnight and I'm going to put a whipped cream topping on it tomorrow. I'll let you know how that goes, ladybird97.
