Cooking pumpkins  
When you roast a pumpkin and then scoop out the flesh, you end up with the leftover rind looking just a bit like a deflated basketball.  Which is, let's face it, COOL.

The best reason to cook is because it's even better than a chemistry set.

I suspect I'm going to end up with way too much pumpkin, though.  (What, me, overbuy ingredients?  Pffft.)

At least cooked pumpkin freezes very well.

What always gets me when cooking pumpkin (to use in pies or whatever), it it's just so..... ORANGE.
