In need of suggestions

Okay, so... I've been playing around with this for some time now.

I have my plans roughly hammered out.  My last final is May 9th.  On May 10th, I'm heading up to a cabin in FDR State Park where I will do the alone thing for a few days and get my head together (so I did finally decide on something -- a cabin is less intimidating than camping on my own, but still wildernessy enough to suit me).

I come back midweek, probably clean the apartment and file and clean out closets and such.  And then the graduation ceremony is on the 16th at 10am.  I'm going to send announcements/invites (I realize I'm already a bit late, but oh well).  I know my mother and sister will be there.

What I could use input on:  So.  Party?

If so, Saturday night the 16th?  If so, could anybody come?  If so, should I have in my tiny apartment?  I guess it's not THAT tiny.  But then again, yes it is.  Also I'm convinced that I'm bad at throwing parties.  But that's mainly just insecurity.  Still, maybe a big going-out-to-dinner might be the ticket instead.  Or a party somewhere's else.  All of this is in need of adjustment.

So.  Party?

No advice on the party throwing...
Congratulations in advance.
On May 16th I'll be at the symphony - bought tickets months ago. (Something seemed so fitting about attending The Requiem the day after the exam.)

I don't know what kind of dining or entertaining facilities are available in Columbus. Would it be at Columbus, or here?

Twould be in Columbus for sure. My mother and sister are both coming.

you: congrats congrats. I wish I could make it! also, very cool on the cabin rental :)

Are you going to be up to cleaning for a party right before the graduation ceremony and all of that stuff? We rented a room in a hotel for mine which was a little easier in some ways (people could get drunk and stay in a hotel room; we didn't have to clean as much; etc). It wasn't too expensive.

Hmm, that's definitely an idea. OR... the ceremony's at 10am, which means it'll be over by afternoon, so outdoors at some park somewhere isn't out of the question.

mom says there's a little park with tables and benches over near Locos. Or there's Cooper Creek or Flat Rock park as well.
