5 Most Hated Critters (that shouldn't be)

Got this link from belgatherial and I must say I was impressed!

The 5 Most Hated Creatures on the Planet (Don't Deserve It)

I have often asked what purpose mosquitoes serve.  And yes, I am actually happy to have an answer to that question that not only makes sense, but has a kind of karmic symmetry to it.

Also I had no idea cockroaches were so positively admirable.

In other news, a_joyous_life posted a video of performing artist Andy McKee, playing what I, in my relative ignorance, am going to simply refer to as fingerstyle acoustic guitar.  (Is there another name for the style?)

I was so impressed I went to iTunes and picked up his album, Art of Motion.  Which is fantastic.  I also picked up some Kaki King while I was on that roll, because she's the same artist who does the fingerstyle guitar used in August Rush.  It's so, so easy to fall head over heels for this music.

can't see video, it's locked

and my guess (without looking it up) is it's classical guitar (strings plucked with fingers?)

but haven't seen video or googled name yet.

I have to agree with one comment on the site, I'm not sure why rats are on there. They don't show that they do anything erally positive, jsut that they aren't so bad (they don't spread disease quite as much as we think, but they still devestate crops and endanger species... I consider that pretty bad).

I hate mosquitoes and have been told but many animals survive off of them. I'm like they can eat something else, right? I guess I'm wrong on that one.

And cockroaches should be number one cause not only does everyone hate them, they have no negative impact it seems and very positive impact (eating flea and even better, bed bug eggs is a very helpful function. As well as helping to get rid of mold and mildew). I mean they not only aren't so harmful, they are actually very helpful it sounds like.

That article was nifty. I had no clue that cockroaches were so respectable. I had a near paranoid fear of them until a few years ago. Neat!
